The hundred years anniversary of Gunnar Birkerts was celebrated on 17th of January. Gunnar Birkerts is one of the most famous Latvian architects. Mainly specialized in Libraries. Storms of history swept him to the USA where most of his works can be found. But he left a piece of his heart to motherland Latvia as well: Castle of Light, Latvijas Nacionālā bibliotēka / National Library of Latvia. Here you can find very informative and well-presented exhibition, dedicated to Gunnar Birkerts life and works. Which is created by Janis Dripe and Andris Kronbergs ARHIS Arhitekti.
