In the Glass Quarter, Vilnius, on August 1 was exposed a full-length portrait of the Grand Duke of Lithuania and King of Poland Sigismund Augustus and Barbora Radvilaitė. It was painted by the talented painter Miglė Kosinskaitė on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the birth of Sigismund Augustus. It is interesting that the painter chose Vaidotas, the performer of the group The Roop, for the prototype of the impressive size (220 x 180 cm) Sigismund Augustus.
During the event, co-founder of the creative community of the Glass Quarter, designer Julia Janus presented a gallery of images from various eras depicting the royal couple and its romantic history. The portrait is exhibited in a building of  the 16th century. The first Vilnius printing house was established in JSC Korgas contributed to creating a festive atmosphere for the event, created a lighting concept for the exhibited painting and lit the inner yard of the building. The iGuzzini Palco Framer floodlight (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMEP2j2Qq5c) is used to illuminate the painting, which creates a visual frame in the space by illuminating the work of art.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by members of the Glass Quarter business and cultural community, heads of Polish, Italian and French institutes, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine Andrej Buriak and the Mayor of Vilnius Remigijus Šimašius.
The painting now is on display in the Lokys restaurant lobby. Admission is free.
