Šnipiškės square

Šnipiškės square in Vilnius accommodate both traditional wooden buildings that have preserved their originality, and modern offices. A diverse, multi-layered city is being created, where the needs of communities are prioritized.

A new public space was opened in the Šnipiškiu district of Vilnius - Šnipiškiu Square, the name of which was chosen by the community. The project was prepared taking into account the residents' desire to have as many functional areas as possible in the square. It includes the main community outdoor event space with sports and children's playgrounds, an original walking bridge and terraces with seating. Šnipiškiu Square resembles a city garden with apple trees, decorative fruit and other trees.

The role of lighting is very important for the functioning of the infrastructure of this space. A circle was chosen as the main element of the architectural composition, symbolizing unity, growth and completeness. There is a square in the center of the public space, which is illuminated by luminaires on high supports. The walkways and the children's playground are lit by iGuzzini Twilight Bilbao, which provide general lighting.

The square is surrounded by an original pedestrian bridge, on which you can sit down and admire the view of wooden houses. L&L Luce&Light Bright 1.2 accent luminaires are installed in the niche of the bridge to illuminate the seating areas, with the help of which a cozy atmosphere is created in the dark.

The square was designed by ID Vilnius (architects Saulius Dagelis, Vincas Brezgys, Paulius Jonys and landscape architects Jurgita Stonkutė, Živilė Savickaitė).
