Mount Tauras viaduct in Vilnius

The new viaduct, through which Vilnius residents and city guests can walk from New Town to Old Town without crossing the street.

The comprehensively managed public spaces of Vilnius entice the citizens to take a walk along undiscovered routes. One of such spaces is Tauro Kalnas Park, the territory of which is gradually integrated into the dynamic life of the city. The new viaduct, through which Vilnius residents and city guests can walk from New Town to Old Town without crossing the street, has already become a new attraction not only during the day, but also after dark.

When designing the lighting, the openwork composition of the created viaduct structure and the wavy railings of the repeating rhythm were taken into account. With the help of light, we wanted to emphasize the sculptural nature of the railings. The textured surface of the retaining concrete wall is accentuated by recessed lighting from below.

All lighting is designed according to the "clean design" principle, without using any supports and other protruding parts. Therefore, we see only the illuminated surfaces that must draw the main attention.
In this project we used iGuzzini luminairies: Linealuce and Underscore-inout.
