Mežaparks is one of the most beautiful, greenest and at the same time one of the most prestigious districts in Riga, as well as a popular recreation area. The Grand Stage of the Song Festival is located in Mezaparks, hosting one of the most important events in the cultural life of Latvia once every four years – the Song Festival. The Grand Stage is also a popular venue for concerts by local and foreign artists.

The winner of the International Sketch Competition for the Mežaparks Open-Air Stage Reconstruction were the Latvian Architects collaborative team - Mailitis Architects and Juris Poga's Bureau. For their contribution to the reconstruction project, they were awarded the 2021 Latvian Architecture Award.
The lighting for the entire park has recently been updated. In cooperation with our lighting specialists were designed park areas, footpath and Grand Stage lighting, were used the iGuzzini luminaires.

This project is an example of good cooperation between the government, local municipality and the builders. The Latvian Architecture Award received for this project is a prestigious award that not only accentuates outstanding achievements in Latvian architecture and cares about the development of the industry, but also promotes public awareness of architecture. I am thankful to the SIA Gaismas Stils lighting team for collaborating in this great project.
