KLAIPĖDA DRAMA THEATER IS THE OLDEST THEATER BUILDING IN LITHUANIA, COUNTING ALMOST TWENTY HUNDRED YEARS OF HISTORY.

Over the centuries, he had to experience of everything: the theater was built, burned down, then rebuilt, privatized, restored, reconstructed, until it finally acquired its current image.

Although the Klaipėda Drama Theater building is considered to be the oldest object built especially for the theater, what is interesting is that with its technological possibilities it has become the most modern in the whole of Lithuania, and in some aspects - even in the Baltic States.
During the eight-year reconstruction, the latest electroacoustic sound architecture system and video system were installed. In cooperation with JSC Korgas was renewed and modernized the outdoor and indoor lighting of the building.

The old facades of the building are perfectly highlighted in the interior of the theater. The interiors, with their extremely high ceilings, are illuminated with iGuzzini luminaires of uniform design but wide possibilities, which help to illuminate the large perimeter of the spaces smoothly. The old theater building blends harmoniously into the annex, built in 1990, combining modern sleek, angled, wavy interiors with a broken roof. During the day, the interior of the building radiates daylight, and at dusk the interior is flooded with an atmosphere created by modern LED lighting, which perfectly accentuates the paintings of famous artists (Sofija Veiverytė, Juozas Vosylius, Bronius Uogintas, Angelina Banytė, Vladimir Bogatyriov, etc.), actors artists ’gifts to the theater.

The impression of luxury is created by the red color, which is repeated in curtains, carpets and chairs. Have been used many natural materials - wood, granite, marble, together with decoratively graceful walls and ceilings, hand-made Giogali chandeliers by the manufacturer Vistosi, creating a feeling of festive solemnity and coziness.
The large performance hall is equipped with luminaires from the world-famous manufacturer iGuzzini Pixel Pro, which illuminate many world-famous cultural buildings. These luminaires have particularly good characteristics when illuminating spaces with high ceilings.
The small performance hall is illuminated by Trilux luminaires.
The outdoor facades of the theater building are illuminated with professional iGuzzini iPro luminaires.
